The Oranjemund Town Council recently launched its Investment Policy that serves as a framework and guideline for investment management within the Oranjemund Town Council to enhance Oranjemund as an investment destination while encouraging diversification of the local economy. The policy is further used to direct the Council’s position in attracting, participating, and maintaining investment from different investors and to ensure that there is a positive impact in attracting and retaining existing businesses. There are many investment opportunities in Oranjemund such as agricultural production of high-value chain crops, Commercial retailers, ITC, tourism services, light & heavy industrial development, business and residential development, green tourism, manufacturing, and many more.
The announcement of Namdeb’ s Long-Term Business plan life of mine extension [2022 to 2042] came at the right time as the Council is looking forward to developing a diverse and sustainable town in order to improve the livelihood of our people, and to create economic activities for the local community, the //Kharas region and Namibia in general. Council remains committed to further strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders, as this is indeed a unique opportunity for Oranjemund, and all other stakeholders to write a new positive chapter and change the future trajectory of the town. Council invites all residents and business investors to be part of the journey to remodel & reshape Oranjemund from a single economy to a multi-faceted, sustainable, and thriving town.
